The General Data Protection Law in the organization of health work processes: integrative literature review

The Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados establishes standards for the security of personal information. This article aims to identify, in the Brazilian literature, the impact of the implementation of this law on the organization of the work processes in healthcare. An integrative review of the literature was conducted, using studies extracted from databases and electronic libraries. Initially, 565 studies conducted in the last 10 years in Portuguese, English and Spanish were identified. The 12 selected studies were published from 2017 to 2023; healthcare institutions store the most personal data; lawyers are the ones who research on the topic the most; the studies were based on qualitative research, and the results point to the difficulty of complying with the new law. The principles that guide the law have not yet been fully incorporated into the work processes of health institutions.
