Biometrics is being increasingly adopted to identify people. It allows you to identify someone through physical traits (iris, fingerprint, face) or through other singularities (voice, signature). In order to identify individuals, it can be used in several ways. The Web is now one of the main focuses of biometrics. Creating a Web biometric system requires detailed study of such platform. Security, usage, and customer environment issues must be taken into account from the beginning of the project. This paper provides an overview of how a Web biometric system works, with an approach to the technical and operational aspects of its implementation and deployment. In addition to that, we present a case study of biometrics solution for a health insurance plan which is managed through the Web, as well as a general overview of how it has been deployed.Downloads
