Abstract

The reflections in the present article are the result of a study on the work activities of professors and researchers in a Brazilian public university. The study analyzed how the academic teaching is organized from an ergological perspective, considering the approaches found in activity-centered ergonomics, sociology of science, psychodynamics of work. A basic science institute (the Physics Institute, henceforth referred as PI) was chosen as the scenario for the analysis of the work dynamics of professors and researchers. The article describes some aspects of professors’/researchers’ activities and communication-related factors found in the scientificacademic activity and draws attention their complexity.
