Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease with high prevalence. A proper diet, knowledge about nutritional profile and adherence on treatment of diabetics are important to improve the quality of life and to reduce healthcare costs. This article aims to present the application Diabetes Food Control, developed to evaluate the diabetic’s feeding, based on a validated questionnaire. On its development, were used Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) of Apache Cordova, HTML5, CSS and JavaScrip languages for portable devices of Android platform. The application was evaluated by nutrition experts, with a adapted questionnaire from Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the thinking aloud technical. The results identified a satisfactory acceptance of the application, especially regarding their use, for allowing more practical, ease and agility in carrying out the data collection, compared to the traditional methods using paper.
