From results of studies conducted in the period 2009-2013, to identify scientific evidence of the effectiveness of interventions in oral or written language in children with Down syndrome, only one systematic review of the literature was found. These data suggest the need to conduct researches to feed others systematic reviews about the matter, namely, investigations that gather, analyze and synthesize primary studies to identify scientific evidences that contribute to success of interventions in children with phonological problems. In this regard, 554 RSL were examined, and only one of them deal with phonological awareness and related intervention, recognized as effective to improve the performance of oral reading. Researchers recommend enhance the use of systematic reviews of literature for clinical practice and suggest further studies using single-subject design.
