This article assumes that information for the Brazilian Network of Human Milk Banks (“Network”; Rede Brasileira de Bancos de Leite Humano - rBLH-BR) has been collected and seeks to understand the dynamics of such. This study will provide an overview on information relevant to the rBLH-BR using 860 studies presented at the Network’s five conferences. We attempted to identify the areas with the greatest interest, the theoretical and methodological approaches as well as whether such information is formal and informal. Sixty-eight percent of such studies are devoted to breastfeeding care or cultural dimension. Information and communication appear with relative frequency, ranging from 0.6% to 2%. The quantitative approach predominates, but the qualitative methodology has grown. Behavior, biology and statistics are combined, which unites biology and society as well as nature and culture. The Network uses such information in a hybrid manner through combining academic information and practical needs as well as formal and informal scientific communication channels. The Network is strong because it can use information in multiple forms, which strengthens the ties among its members.Downloads
