The danger of being a teenager: discourses and representations of care and risk in health promotion

The study aims to reflect on the construction of speeches aimed at health promotion of adolescents with a focus on the intersection between caution and risk categories. Notes that the dominant epidemiological perspective of risk associated with juvenile condition to a vulnerable period, reinforcing arguments of a biological nature to explain social behavior. Classified as belonging to a "risk group", teenagers are prescriptions target produced by experts who seek to guide policies and actions are disseminated by the media, on the grounds of prevention. The central topic of discussion proposal is the representation of adolescence itself, as a threat to health.Downloads
